The City Reflected
The use of glass in modern skyscrapers presents its own paradox; to the building’s occupant it provides unobstructed transparency to the outside world. To the outside observer glass often presents not only an opaque surface, but usually reflects the rest of the city back to the viewer. The building exists but refuses to expose the inner happenings to the surrounding city. Of course in the evening, this process reverses itself, putting the inhabitants on display while limiting external views.
This collection of images explores this strange phenomenon and how it is ever-present and simultaneously unobserved.
